Reach and Return

1 to 2 minutes

Choose this when…

You want to gently explore taking up space and returning to yourself.

Illustration demonstrating Reach and Return, reaching outward then returning to the body.

Try this

  1. Begin with your hands resting on your lap, heart area or wherever feels neutral.
  2. Slowly reach one or both hands forward.
  3. If it feels good, reach slightly outward or upward. Stay within a comfortable range.
  4. Bring your hands back to the starting place.
  5. Repeat slowly, noticing the movement away and the return.

Seated option

Complete the movement seated. The reach can be as small as extending your fingers and drawing them back.
