Hum and Notice

30 seconds to 1 minute

Choose this when…

You want to explore sound and vibration gently.

Illustration demonstrating Hum and Notice, making a soft humming sound.

Try this

  1. Sit or stand comfortably.
  2. If it feels okay, make a soft humming sound at an easy pitch.
  3. Keep the sound relaxed. There is no need to make it loud, deep or long.
  4. Pause whenever you need to breathe.
  5. Notice where you can feel the sound—perhaps around your lips, face, throat or chest.
  6. You can stop after one hum or continue for several comfortable rounds.

Quiet option

If making sound does not feel right, listen to a gentle piece of music and notice where you experience it in your body.
